Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. The first Broadway role titles include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The actress was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress has worked alongside actors and directors on both screen and stage throughout all her life. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani in Hulu special show Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is in the process of completing production on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It is Hulu Original, the film will be made available to Disney DTC's digital platforms. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford returns to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail are at the director's helm for the show. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the incident in which Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp were the main characters of the first ever impeachment hearing in America. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS popular comedy B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also starred Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Other Broadway appearances are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the original role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for that she won a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and is now dividing her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
